About the Series

Healing in the Wilderness

A mission born from the wilderness places of life — grief, trauma, and spiritual disorientation — and the unchanging truth that God is present in every one of them.

The Mission

The mission of the Healing in the Wilderness series is to guide readers through seasons of grief, trauma, and spiritual disorientation by grounding them in the unchanging truth of Scripture.

Mary Batch, author of the Healing in the Wilderness series

Author & biblical counselor

Mary Batch

Mary Batch is the author of the Healing in the Wilderness series — five books written for believers walking through the hard, disorienting seasons of life that no one prepares you for. As a biblical counselor, she provides Christ‑centered soul care rooted in Scripture, helping individuals navigate grief, trauma, emotional overwhelm, and spiritual confusion with clarity and compassion.

Her writing and counseling are shaped by Scripture, personal experience, and a deep conviction that the wilderness is not a place God abandons His people — it is often where He does His most profound work. She speaks honestly about suffering and equally honestly about the hope and healing she has found in Christ.

Mary’s heart is for the reader and the counselee who feels lost, overlooked, or too broken to be restored. Her message is simple: you are not too far gone. The God who led Israel through the wilderness is the same God who walks with you through yours.
